Check out my other items ! This lovely vintage religious icon presents Mary the Madonna watching over two cherubs at play. Her garb is presented in a red with maroon accents, and covered by a deep blue robe with gold edging. This wonderful miniature work of art is worked on a wooden base, and looks to have been painted on fine canvas that has been coated and finished for resilience through time. It was created by renowned Frankfort, German iconographer, Kunstverlag Wolfrum. The artist was most prolific in the early 1900's. This piece is most likely 80-90 years old. The icon measures 4 inches wide, 5 inches long, and 3/8 inch deep. The edges show some slight wear, and the painting has a small section of yellowing in the upper right hand corner. The back has blue and white label identifying the artist and origin. It reads Kunstverlag Wolfrum, Buchhandlung, Kunsthandlung, Antiquariat, Wien I, Augustinerstrasse 10.
