You are bidding on: A 32-PIECE SET OF VINTAGE LAGUIOLE FRENCH FLATWARE, SPOONS AND FORKS IN TWO SIZES. Here's a great, very handsome set of vintage silverware Laguiole French manufacture in a swirled or marbled black handle style. OK... so I buy a lot of estates and entire households; usually all the kitchenware goes straight to my local auction house and I focus on more collectable things like glassware and pottery and such. When I found these in a side drawer of an old home in Kentucky, they were just so handsome I carried them home and tried to find out something about them. Apparently the brand is quite desirable, and somewhat collectible, so here they are. There are 32 pieces, eight each of large spoons (8 inches), large forks (8 inches), small forks (6.5 inches) and small spoons (6.5 inches). These are used, and vintage. They come from a very old household. All the stainless parts are immaculate, but the brass areas at either end of the handles have variable patina and tarnish. This could probably be cleaned up with some Brasso or something, but if I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times: I don't do housework! IN addition, one of the small spoons has damage to the brass at handle top, see photos. Mostly, I think you could clean these all up, and they'd be quite serviceable. Small forks also have the France mark on the utensil face. Like I said, I know very little about these things but somebody probably wants or needs them. So I'll start the auction at 99 cents, and let it fly with no reserve! Plenty of photos above so check them all out!
