Beautiful large pale ecru Italian Reticella tablecloth & 12 napkins, lavishly trimmed with what appears to be handmade lace. Up for auction, the tablecloth set has been gently hand washed, line dried & lightly pressed. I do not believe the cloth was ever used. The cloth measures 70" X 110". It is a lighter weight, crisp linen in a pale, pale ecru. The embroidery is hand done in a matching color thread. The matching lace edges the cloth and corners. The lace center of the cloth is gorgeous! I've been unable to ID the type of lace but it appears to be a type of tape lace. It is attached & inserted into the cloth with tiny, tiny hand stitches. The 12 napkins are approximately 16" square. They each are embroidered with a matching motif & lace in one corner. The usual irregularities associated with linen are present. There is one age stain which my gentle cleaning did not remove (photo #8). There are no other stains or marks. I see approximately two areas where it appears a stitch was dropped(?) or a stitch was missed. I've pictured one such area in photo #10. I believe a tiny stitch would mend this area without too much trouble and all would be well! Fabulous cloth for entertaining! If you would like more photos, please email me. I accept PayPal only.
