This is a superior pair of sterling silver earrings, early from this taller, and completely hand made, circa 1942. The earrings feature a large, wreath-like form that dangles beneath a small swirl of silver and they close with well working screwbacks. Bold and big on the ear, yet light enough not to be a bother. Wonderful! Dating Los Ballesteros work can be difficult since they are still producing today and were inconsistent in hallmarking throughout the years, this hallmark is early, as documented by Hougart to be 1942, just after the taller moved to Taxco. The family taller of Los Ballesteros began silversmithing in Iguala in 1937, then moved to Taxco in 1941 where they were and continue to be a large and very successful manufacturer and retailer.
