Absolutely well made and gorgeous looking. It has a stamp on the bottom and the number 6163 (see pictures)I had this figurine for awhile now and belonged to my father but didn't know much about it ~ I decided to run a report with an expert and this is what I got: "Description: Metzler & Ortloff Style Dog Figurine Item Date: c. 1938 Our expert's market report: This dog is of high quality both of make and sculpt. The m ark is very smudged and I do not have the advantage of close inspection, so as best I can see from the photograph, this mark is that of Metzler & Ortloff. Va riations of it were certainly used between 1890 and 1945. Later marks carried an M & O with crown. Marks using the word 'GERMANY' were only used later in the run of this standard mark , thus giving the date of around the late 1930’s. Metzler & Ortloff are known for this type of glazed dog as well as bisque figures of children, similar in appearance to Hummel Goebel, but pre-dating them and also some very collectible art deco figurines of stylised animals. A very good and collectible company, but still relatively undiscovered. " If anybody knows anything about the figurine and would like read more
