Mexican Vintage Obsidian, Turquoise and Silver Repousse Telephone Pin. Really Amazing, Old Taxco School , Pre-Eagle, ca. 1940âe(tm)s. This beautiful piece is made out in the shape of a vintage telephone. This pin was crafted in the Taxco workshops who were famous for their great quality in silversmithing. It is known that the silver of Taxco is internationally recognized for its purity and extraordinary artistic qualities. This art- piece was created using repousse, the use of this technique implied a bigger amount of time for doing it, not like other techniques which were less complicated. It was totally hand-made. This telephone pin is made into two pieces. The principal piece is in the shape of a box and has the bells over it; it has set ten turquoise and one obsidian cabochon below the bells which simulate the dial. On one side it has the phone which has one turquoise and one obsidian cabochons set into each end. This piece is attached to the principal by a silver chain which simulates the cord. It hung from a silver wire. It is a very beautiful and very detailed piece. You must look at the photos so you can detail it. The pin is in perfect working condition and this piece has its original patina. It measures: 3 ¼ X 1 ¾ in. It is fully marked as follows: STERLING , MEXICO . It weights: 24.3 gr. This piece is in excellent vintage condition, it has only some minor surface scratches and dents common to any worn vintage piece. Look at the photos so you can detail it. It will not disappoint you.
