Offered here is a large octagonal ironstone soup tureen with lid, underplate and ladle by Red Cliff of Chicago in the "Grape" pattern. Deep relief embossed grapes and leaves with vine motif handles and ladle handle and beading around the foot make this four piece set striking. This pattern was manufactured form 1961 to 1974 and this tureen is the 2.5quart size, standing 13" tall to the finial top. There are no chips, cracks or repairs and the glazing is clean and bright. On the ladle there is a rough spot underneath on the end of the handle and some light crazing on the outside of the ladle bowl (see the last two pics). No other marks or flaws noted. Measurements of the tureen are 12" across from handle to handle and 8" tall without the lid. The underplate is also 12" across from handle to handle and the ladle is about 12" long. Marked with the blue Red Cliff marks underneath (the ladle is not marked at all). A wonderful set of American craftsmanship that enhance your next gathering and it displays beautifully.
