Offered for sale in very nice used condition are six (6) vintage matte finish Carson Statesmetal (reproduction pewter-styled) sand cast food & drink safe (100% lead & cadmium free) 10 1/2" Dinner Plates in the Danforth pattern, created by Carson of Freeport, PA. I believe these were produced sometime in the mid-70's to early 80's when the demand for reproduction pewter was at a peak for the bi-centennial celebrations. The stickers say they are 10 1/2" diameter plates but they all actually measure 10 1/4" in diameter and are slightly over 1/8" thick. They are very similar to Wilton Armetale's "Plough" pattern and are very well made. But for a few light minor surface scratches and a few spots of rough casting material though they sit flat with no wobble and display beautifully. The unpackaged weight of each is slightly less than 1 1/2 lbs. Each piece is individually hand cast and hand-finished so that no two pieces are exactly alike. The greatest features to this metal is it's low maintenance (no polishing necessary for a nice rustic look), durability (won't crack or break) and the metal's great heat & cold retention that keeps hot food & beverages hot and cold food & beverages cold much longer. Thank you for looking and please e-mail me if you have any questions. Happy e-Baying! P.S. - I'm also listing eight (8) Carson Danforth
