This Springerle Rolling Pin is very pretty and would make a lovely kitchen decoration. The pins are not stationary - so the roller moves freely - the pins allow you to move with the roller so that you can print 16 cookies at a time! This Springerle Rolling Pin with 16 Bold Prints is designed to be used with a softer dough like springerle, gingerbread, shortbread or rollout-cookie dough. It can also be used for dough and cookie ornaments. The best part about this Springerle Rolling Pin with 16 Bold Prints is that it can be used all year round - you can press fondant, chocolate modelling clay, marzipan, pastillage, etc. When you're finished printing the cookies just trim them with a straight-edged or fluted pastry cutter for a very pretty cookie or ornament! This Springerle Rolling Pin with 16 Bold Prints was made in Germany and is imprinted (in block letters) at the end of the roller (see photo #9 above). It has a set of 16 bold prints each one with lined borders - this roller will print the traditional type of Springerle cookies that you grew up with as a child. The prints are detailed, beautiful and fairly deep. The prints/molds included are: birds, 2 flowers, rabbit, Christmas Tree, 2 fruit, nuts, butterfly, church, squirrel, apple, bee, beehive, duck, and sail boat. This is a beautiful Springerle Rolling Pin that was made in Germany and is in MINT Condition - while it's marked vintage - the roller is in rather new condition - with a little wear on the pins only. We use one just like this to make cookies each year and ornaments for the Christmas Tree. Please take the time to look at all of the photos .
