Victoria Ironstone Porcelain Handle Scuttle Shaving MugCobalt Blue Willow Pattern ~ Excellent Condition ~ DESCRIPTION: is a great shaving mug in the handled scuttle mug shape. It has the Blue Willow cobalt blue transfer ware pattern. This has a great looking curved handle which gives it an even more unique look. This shape was quite popular during the turn of the 20 th century but this piece is not that old. The shaving brush was put on the top of the mug and the soap and water would drain down from the three holes on the top and then the soapy water could be poured out. We acquired this at an estate sale over 15 years ago so I do not know exactly how old this piece is. It is marked on the bottom with the Victoria Ironstone mark. From what I have been told this is not an English import item so I do not know w it was produced or who made it. If you are a collector of unique shaving mugs, scuttle mugs or Blue Willow transfer ware this will make a great addition to your collection. PLEASE CHECK OUT MY OTHER LISTINGS FOR MORE ITEMS IN POTTERY, GLASS & COLLECTIBLES. Thanks to the members of the PGP Board for their help in the identification of this mug and the design. DIMENSIONS: This piece stands approximately 4" in height. It is about 7" in length by 3" across. The base is about 3-1/4" wide. CONDITION: This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or nicks. T are a couple of pin size dots under the glaze which occurred during manufacturing but they do not distract from the display of the unique shaving mug (see photo of top below). I mention them for accuracy purposes. Please be sure you are ok with the condition mentioned above before you bid as I want a happy buyer. I try to describe each item to the best of my ability but if you have any questions at all regarding this piece please contact me before bidding. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
