See our classified ad in current editions of "Knife World" magazine. Bidders/Collectors: Description: 1 rare vintage U.S. World War II Knife Crafters sword available. This Knife Crafters fighting knife/sword measures 23 1/2" in its leather scabbard. This custom theater sword is of exceptional quality. This is the second of two Knife Crafters swords I had--the other one sold on 6/23/11. This knife would make a fine addition to any collection. This sword is a rare find. I hadn't run across this piece in any of my World War II reference materials. I contacted Mike Silvey about this sword. He wrote that he hadn't seen one before. He placed an estimated value on this sword of $450. I will provide to the potential bidder or winner of this sword, a copy of Mike Silvey's email for the winner collector's records. I am being flexible on price to facilitate a quick sale as I am raising funds for a larger purchase. The leather scabbard is stamped 'Crafters TRADE MARK'. This sword has a leather handle. The four-sided stiletto blade is stamped with the image of a Roman comb helmet, and reads 'G.S.' and 'FRANCE'. The reverse side of the blade is stamped with the number '5' and 'MADE IN FRANCE'. As with all KnifeCrafters fighting knives, this sword was made from an existing sword blade. The blade for this one happened to be French. The blade itself measures 18 1/4". For additional size reference, the middle portion of the blade measures 3/16" on each of the its four sides. Condition: This vintage WW II Knife Crafters sword is in excellent condition. The sword blade has absolutely no pitting. There is a bit of the most superficial of finish rust at the very base of the blade. This is of the type that can be easily removed with Flitz or Simichrome polish. The leather on the main part of the handle is in excellent condition. The leather wrist strap on the scabbard is broken in one spot, and is cracked from dryness in other spots. The leather on the main part of the handle is in excellent condition. The Knife Crafters stamp on the scabbard is very clear. About 1 1/4" of the leather at the tip of the scabbard is gone. There is also dryness at the tip. The sword tip will poke out the end of the scabbard now, so use caution when handling this sword while it is in its scabbard. The rest of the scabbard is in excellent condition.
