Welcome to my auction for my Mk11 Scirocco in a very nice black colour. My friend sold me this car back in March and I never intended to keep it this long. Amazing is all I can say,it just keeps going and drives very tight! Really nice comfortable leather seats.The car is originally Isle of Man registered in1991, and imported into the UK back in 1996. This is shown in the VW Service Schedule book.My car shows a lot of service history but is in no way complete. The main things like Water pump and Timing belt kit were done December 2010. The MOT runs out 6th September 2013 and the Tax September 2013. The reason i'm selling the car as spares or repairs is purely because i consider myself a straight person who would not sell a car under any false pretensies. By this i mean the car has issues but appears so solid on the outside, it would seem criminal to scrap it, my friend who sold her to me says they are very collectable. The obvious things to me about the car are the following.There is rust corrosion on the passenger door which is clearly shown in the photo. The good news is that the same friend has a door for it if you require it. Please will the winning bidder let me know as I will have to collect it from him. The door is FREE!!The temperature gauge does not work until you stop and idle,then it rises past the half way mark and drops again after a while. When you drive away it goes back as if it is not working. This appears not to be a head gasket problem but probably the thermostat getting stuck. I am no mechanic, another reason the car is sold as spares or repairs!!The fan heater only works on the number 3 setting intermittently. I don't know why! MPG digital read out not working.There is a crack in the windscreen as shown in the photo.The VW badge on the boot is missing,shown in photo, and various dinks and scratches as you would expect of a car of this age. The main scratches are shown in the photo as the corrosion on the wheels are.When I start the car from cold there is a screeching from what I think might be the alternator belt. In the dry, going along no problem until the weather is damp or it has been raining. When you change gear it screeches again then disappears. It has been doing this since I had the car.When starting the car from cold you have to turn the engine over for a while before she fires up and then keep the accelerator depressed for a while,then she ticks over normally. Once again it has been this way since i have had her.The clutch seems high, it is not slipping, but I don't know if this is normal for a Scirroco. Again, it has been like this since i've had the car. One last thing is that the speedo is not working, I have been using the rev counter to measure speed instead. There is a slight The milege reads 151,551 but I certainly know i have added about 8,000 miles to that this year.The milege reads on the September 2011- 2012 MOT certificate 149,057 miles.The milege reads on the September 2012-2013 MOT certificate 151,551 miles. I have been as honest with my description as possible. The things I have described appear to be the main things to me but as I have already said, I am no Mechanic. Please come and view and have a look for yourself, I really do not want the winner moaning about the car when collecting or then leaving bad feed back afterwards.I feel that most people from the description know i'm being straight, it's taken me a very long time to describe the car!! Bringing your Mechanic to check it over on collection will not impress me. After all the car is sold as SPARES OR REPAIRS. The car is drivable so not to worry about towing it away, im still using it up to next Saturday!!The car can be viewed throughout the coming week at a mutual time during the day or evening.
