The beauty in quality Design The lever, the Ball Clip design, and even the profile of the early fountain pens created by W.A.Sheaffer have been preserved in this commemorative edition. Constructed from a solid brass rod with a layer of nickel plate beneath the 23 karat gold electroplate finish, it is a distinctive writing instrument with significant heft. An intricate scrolled pattern has been engraved into the surfaces of the barrel and cap. The nib combines the two-tone beauty of 18 karat gold and silver-coloured palladium-plated chevron. As the finishing touch, each pen's individual serial number and the W.A.Sheaffer pen Co. Pat. No. 896,861 are engraved near the lever.
