Rare and Collectible Skinning Knife and Leather SheathM.W. (Merle) Seguine Juneau, AK You are invited to bid on a rare and collectible M.W. Merle Seguine Custom-Made Skinning Knife. Serial Number 1039. Mr. Seguine was from here in Juneau, Alaska and his name M.W. Seguine is engraved in the blade (see pic). The handle looks to be wood walnut with a brass hilt and brass butt cap. Overall length of the knife is approximately 9 1/4"; the blade is approximately 5" long. Everything appears to be tight. The knife comes with a custom-made leather sheath with a pocket that holds a whet stone. The knife is really sharp. The blade has a little bit of staining as it has been used. Additional Information posted on 5/5/2011 - There are no nicks or gouges on the cutting edge; the cutting edge is honed about 1/16 of an inch along the blade; some of the staining does appear to be a bit of corrosion.
