Wacky Packages - Red Ludlow - 1973 Ultra Blight Toothpaste For your viewing pleasure and consideration is a very, very RARE RED LUDLOW Wacky Package, Ultra Blight Toothpaste. This card is in EXCELLENT++ condition. The only thing keeping this card from grading higher is that the corners are lightly bumped. The back of the card shows the Red Ludlow pattern with the familiar SNAP-BACK camel, and is quite sharp. T are one or two spots on the back, but overall is quite clean. I will let the pictures tell the story about this very rare Wacky. The sticker is just a bit off-enter towards to left. Over the last several weeks, t have been several BLACK Ludlow Wackies - several were mine - up for auction. While these Black Ludlows are rare, the RED LUDLOWS , are even rarer. The Wacky Package Series 1 and 2, were the first of the series widely produced. These had been preceded by Wacky Die-Cuts (1967-68), the Wacky Ads (1969) and the Cloth stickers (1973), but they didn't quite catch on. The Series 1 and 2, with the peel-and-stick application, finally hit their stride. They were so popular that apparently, they ran out of the paper stock used for the backing. That is why you see Series 1 and 2 with White backs, Tan backs, BLACK Ludlow backs, and RED Ludlow backs. The Ludlow backs are very rare - especially the RED backs from Series 1.
