I am offering a fantastic vintage Straight Razor in wonderful condition for its age.This razor that is marked WADE & BUTCHER SHEFFIELD on the blade. According to my research, this is a PRE-1890's model. The scales are 5 5/8" long, the blade is just under 5/8" wide, overall the steel is about 5.25 " long with a 2.75" long cutting edge and last the razor when fully open is 9 3/8" long. The blade is rust free. The scale appears to be bone of some kind, not absolutely positive. Both pins are original and in great condition. It opens and closes smoothly. Small crack in the back scale at the head pin. The case is a modest leather slip-in style. It has scratches, and wear as you can see in the pictures. However, it must have done a great job of protecting this beauty, because the razor is in fantastic shape. Razor needs to be sharpened on a strap. Cuts paper like a razor should but will need to be sharpened to shave with.But that is not a big deal to the man who uses a straight razor. If you do not intend to shave with it then it is ready to display.It would look great displayed as is, or even better reconditioned! Razor is as you see it in the photos below and is sold as it is.
