Wagner Ware Cast Iron Handle Griddle - #9 - 1109 - Cleaned and SeasonedThis Wagner Ware cast iron #9 handle griddle has been meticulously cleaned and lightly seasoned and is ready to join your cooking staff the day it is received. There is no crud, baked on food, or carbon buildup left on it. There is minor staining from age, use, and storage. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs or damage of any kind to the piece.The griddle is 10 ¼" across the top and with the handle it is 15" long and it stands ¾" tall on the plate. This griddle style was made between the years of 1930 and 1970. It rings like a bell when struck.This griddle has a slight 1/16 th of an inside wobble when sitting on a hard flat surface. There is also a 1/16 th of an inch downward bow to the center of the cooking surface. This piece is still quite useable on a gas or electric coil range. The cooking surface is glass smooth with no holes or pitting. Most all the original grinding rings can still be seen.The back of the griddle is marked:WagnerWareSidney-O-1109AI clean all of my cast iron back to the original gun metal gray as close as I can. This way it has no residue or contaminants from previous use or storage. The new owner can process and use with confidence in their safety. I only season with three coats of solid vegetable shortening in the oven for about ten hours. This is why my cast iron does not appear black. You could perhaps say it has been restored as close as possible to its original condition.I do no oil my cast iron so they show better for the pictures. I do not put my cast iron in a smoker to get it black or paint it black. I do not put varnish on the inside cooking surface to make it appear glass shiny and smooth! I prefer to list as many flaws as I can see, find, or think. I want the buyer to be informed and pleased upon arrival.All of our cast iron cookware pictures are taken outside in the natural light. We try never to use a flash to obscure the surfaces or enhance them. We don't like looking into a 'black hole' for a picture of the skillet or pot and don't imagine that you do either. We give you full pictures of the top and bottom and not just a small section of what I want you to see. I always feel like something is being hidden behind the black hole or to the surrounding area of the one small section.
