VINTAGE 1930's WAGNER WARE "MAGNALITE" ART DECO TEA KETTLE For all you "decophiles" w e are pleased to offer this vintage Art Deco Wagner Ware Magnalite Tea Kettle circa 1930's. If you love Wagner Ware and Art Deco you'll LOVE this tea kettle! The extraordinary industrial design of this teapot is Machine Age Art Deco at its best, one of the most coveted kitchen pieces I have come across in my many years of collecting. This really high-end aluminum, with the thick black Bakelite handle, is the highest quality kitchenware that you can get. It is a thoroughly beautiful utilitarian object with streamlined, dramatic sculptural lines that evokes thoughts of the magnificent "future forward" streamlined trains and steamships of the 1930's. Wagner Ware's (of Sidney, Ohio) "Magnalite" was a proprietary metal alloy introduced in 1934. Their use of aluminum was revolutionary in its day. Wagner retained designers John Gordon Rideout and Frank Lloyd Wright who were original Fellows of the Society of Design Engineers, and proponents of the design philosophy "form follows function." This unique vessel design and art deco style handle gave birth to this respected American Classic. The Magnalite tea kettle is in excellent vintage condition with no damage or dents, and a nice clean surface. The tea kettle measures approximately 9 1/2 wide x 7 inches high. The bottom is marked "Wagner Ware, Sidney - O -, Magnalite, 4133 M." This classic will positively enhance any 1930's Machine Age, Art Deco design collection or retro decor.
