WAHL GOLD SEAL IN RARE BLACK PLASTIC

Wahl Eversharp Gold Seal Fountain Pen, c. 1929, in Rare Black Plastic .

A beautiful Highly Styled Art Deco Pyrolin black plastic pen made in the United States of America in the late 1920s. The black plastic version is hard to find since at the time when these pens were manufactured buyers preferred the colored plastics. This model is from the line of pens Wahl introduced in 1929 that featured an interchangeable nib and feed assembly, the Wahl Eversharp Personal Point. This standard size pen is fitted with an Eversharp Gold Seal 14K Medium Flexible Nib. The heart shaped vent hole in the nib is very attractive. The cap, which screws on, features Wahl's roller ball clip and has double slim gold bands. The cap also features the Wahl "double checked" Gold Seal which was Wahl's mark of guaranteed top quality. It is a lever filler that I tested with water just prior to listing. It is in good working order. The imprint "Wahl Eversharp" is on the clip. "Made in U.S.A. " is the imprint on the top and back of the cap. The color is very good. A large and impressive pen at 5 and one eights inches long with the cap on and 6 and seven eights inches long with the cap posted. I see minor brassing on one of the cap bands and on the lever. T is a chip out of the threads that does not affect operation of the pen. No other cracks, scratches, or chips.

Over all, the pen is in excellent + condition and other than noted t is only extremely minimal wear evident on this pen.

It is an extremely excellent example of a very rare and collectible pen.
