Wall Cabinet Curio Spice Rustic Primitive Eastlake I found this at a barn sale, behind an old Victorian farm house. The top carving has a definite Eastlake look. The carving looks like it may have been broken and repaired at one time. The door latch hardware looks like a retro-fit, but I'd guess the hinges and hangers are original. I don't know if the glass is original, but it's been t for a long time. The cabinet is 22 inches tall, 21 inches wide, and about 8 inches deep. The door knob is old, but may not be original to the piece. Aside from wiping the dust off with a damp sponge, I haven't done anything to restore this- no polish, didn't pound in the loose nails- nothing. It's still solid, the doors work, no broken glass- you could refinish it if you want, but I would probably just rub in some linseed oil and let it look old. I guess it could have been a curio cabinet, or a spice cabinet- maybe even a medicine cabinet. It's a nice old piece, definitely not a repro. If you like old wood with character and history, you'll love this cabinet. I also have a few other items from the same house listed, so you may want to check my other auctions.
