This is an INTERNATIONAL AUCTION with No Reserve for a Vintage WALLY FRANK LTD natural finish CHADWICK RHODESIAN shaped pipe. The Chadwick line was a "private label" line of pipes developed by Wally Frank, made in England and first offered in the late 1930's. While I doubt that this piece dates to that period, inasmuch as this particular pipe was crafted from Algerian Briar, I expect that it was made no later than the 1960's or early 70's. The grooves on this Rhodesian are crisp and clean all the way around. The bowl is surrounded with a lot of wonderful grain. T are several minor, small fills. The capacity of the bowl is equal to a Group 3. The rim is clean. The smoking chamber is in excellent condition with a light cake; the draw hole is perfectly centered at the base. This pipe is in SUPERB condition. The pipe has a fine feel in the hand and is well balanced. It was carved from fine old and well aged Algerian Briar. Be ready to enjoy a great pipe from one of the finer Tobacconists who added to the character of New York City for many decades!!!
