We are delighted to present, for your consideration, this rare and lovely Walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival Marble Top Half-Commode/Nightstand (Circa: 1870). This handsome piece is wearing its original finish, weighs approximately 55 pounds, and measures 28 ¾" in height, 18 ¼" in width, and 17" in depth. The inside bottom compartment measurements below the shelf are 8 ¼" in height, 14 ¼" in width and 14" in depth. The inside bottom compartment measurements above the shelf are 9 ¼" in height, 14 ¾" in width and 14 " in depth. The original fitted, beveled edge white marble top is in very good condition for its age (with only some discoloration from age) and perfectly accentuates the elegant Renaissance Revival Style Base. The top drawer is made with dovetailed joinery and is graced with ovolo moulding as well as an elegant raised burl panel. Ample storage is found in the compartment behind the elegant bottom door with one shelf. This elegant bottom door is adorned with a large raised burl panel and ovolo moulding. The bottom door originally did have a lock which at some point was replaced with a knob for better use-ability.
