1930s Mickey Mouse lunch tin! is a rare Norwegian Mickey Mouse - Walt Disney lunch tin up for sale. This tin was made in the 1930's by Norwegian Foblik for Saetre Kjeks (Saetre Cookies). Foblik (and its successors) is known for several extraordinary Disney tins in the periode 1930 up to the early 70's. The pre-war tins are very difficult to find and highly collectable. Sætre Kjeks still exists as a major cookie brand in Scandinavia today. The tin is signed Walt Disney twice. The lito shows school scenes and has the following Norwegian text: "Mickey Mouse liker Sætre Kjeks" (Mickey Mouse likes Sætre cookies) and "Sætre Kjeks er godt" (Sætre cookies are good). Interesting is that this early tin is made before Mickey got is Norwegian name "Mikke Mus". Foblik stands for "Forenede Blikkfabrikker" (United Tin factories) and was put together among several small tin factories it the city of Moss south of Oslo ( Norway ). The history goes back to 1905 but I think Foblik was used for the first time in the 1920's. Later they changed name to Noblikk ("Norsk Blikkfabrikk"/Norwegian Tin Factory) in the 1950s, Noblikk-Sannem (mid 60's) and is today a part of the Skanem group (1990). The tin production is still located in Moss. This tin is scratched on the side otherwise in good condition for its age. Please look at the enlarged pictures (click super size).
