This is a one of a kind Walt Disney collectible from 1959. This was purchased at auction in the 1980s. It is professional framed and matted, behind glass. It is a pencil sketch on paper, unpublished, which shows the Pepsodent Man (an old advertising icon from the 1940s) and Sleeping Beauty. The caption reads, "---HMPHH I DARE SAY, CAWN'T TELL HOW LONG THE OL' GALS BEEN SLEEPING." and is signed Walt Disney" The paper itself is 6 inch wide x 8 1/2 inch tall, perforated at the top, with several holes in the top like it was pinned up on a tack board. The overall size of the picture frame is 13" x 15 1/2". T is a certificate of authenticity taped to the back from Optimum Art of Suisun, CA. I was told by the auction company at the time of purchase that this came from the estate of Disney animator Ray Pearson. They called it "Studio Signed" because they were unable to confirm whether it was an actual Walt Disney signature or signed by one of the animators that were authorized to sign the Walt Disney name at that time. But I was told that they were told by one of Ray Pearson's family members that he had come back from lunch one day to find this pinned up on his drawing board and that Walt had put it t Who knows what is the real story but Ray Pearson was definately working with Walt so it's possible. The Certificate of authenticity states the following: Character: Sleeping Beauty and the Pepsodent Man Title: No Title Medium: Original Pencil Sketch Number: No Number Size: 6 x 8 inches Year: 1959 Publisher: Not Published Comments: From the Disney Animator's Estate of Ray Pearson - Studio Signed.
