Up for auction is a great find , it appears to be a advertisment for the " WALTER BAKER & CO " of Dorchester, Mass.. The Walter Baker Co. made Chocolate candy and won a GOLD MEDAL in The 1900 PARIS EXPOSITION. The box is mortise and has advertising on all sides. My photos' don't do it justice. The Baker Co. was established in 1780 so it made chocolate for a long time. The candy or chocolate was called " PREMIUM NO. 1 ". 12 LBS TO THE BOX. This is just a great antique wood box with some history, wonder w it's been. It has just great petena. If you collect this kind of primitive stuff is a great one. It measures 12 1/4 x 8 1/2.
