This jersey was signed by legendary Chicago Bears Running Back, WALTER PAYTON Walter Payton, who is also known as "Sweetness" for his bouyant personality, reached the 10,000-yard plateau faster than legendary runners such as Jim Brown, O.J. Simpson, and Franco Harris. On October 7, 1984, at Soldier Field, he ran past Brown"s 12, 312-yard NFL-record. In 1987, Payton finished his 13 year career with 3,838 carries and 16,726 yards, both all-time records.
