Decorative panels and skirts of fluted stainless steel applied below the windows created an elegant, streamlined look while large windows and reclining seats let passengers relax and watch the countryside roll past. The Pullman-Standard 52-Seat Coach served many roads in the years to come. Over time, the stainless steel skirts were removed to simplify maintenance. Many cars had the side panels removed when it was discovered that trapped water and cleaning solution caused corrosion. As passenger service was reduced, many were sold to the CNW, Seaboard Airline, Delaware & Hudson and Penn Central. Many were still in good condition in 1971 and went to work for Amtrak. 6773
