HO Walthers Pennsylvania Imperial Series 4-4-2 Sleeping Car - Pre-War - New No Reserve Please READ the TERMS below BEFORE bidding! This auction is for a Brand New, HO Scale, Walthers Pennsylvania Railroad Pre-War Imperial Series 4-4-2 Sleeping Car . This car represents the Pullman Standard 4069B plan and was delivered in 1938 and 1939. The external appearance differs significantly from the Post-War cars due to the small windows above the top pin stripe on the room side of each car. These windows enabled patrons in the top bed to view the country side at night. The Pre-War cars also lacked enclosed toilet facilities in the bedroom and compartment accomodations. This has been sold out at Walthers for a while. This car comes in the original pre-war PRR Red and Black paint sceme with the imitation gold leaf lettering and striping. Hand rails and grab irons are included for application by the modeler. Shipping for this item is by trackable Priority Mail! Included in this Auction Pullman Standard Pennsylvania Pre-War Imperial series 4-4-2 Sleeper This car is brand new, in the original box. This is from an earlier run of cars representing Pre-War Imperial cars. Crisp Gold lettering matches the Pre-War prototype paint scheme and correct decals are provided for the car names. The PRR colors for both the PRR Red and the Gold used in the striping and lettering are DIFFERENT than used on the Post-War Broadway Limited. Walthers has done a good job in representing the PRR colors. The car comes with wire handrails and grab irons to be installed by the modeler. Walthers Proto-Max metal knuckle couplers and RP25 Trucks complete the car.The decals of car name include all ten names listed for the Prewar Imperial cars in Wayner's Car Names, Numbers and Consists reference book. These names include Imperial Park, Imperial Pass, Imperial Plateau and Imperial Point from the original Broadway Limited in March of 1938. Also included are Imperial Range and Imperial Terrace originally assigned to the General in March of 1938 and Imperial Crest, Imperial Lawn, Imperial Mantle, Imperial Path, Imperial Trail and Imperial View originally assigned to general sleeping car service during July and August of 1939. The Imperial cars used in the Broadway Limited and the General directly competed with the New York Central on the New York to Chicago route. Question?
