Listing: Vintage Alpacca (German Silver) Art Deco era, cigarette case with enameled Wanderer logo. This case is approximately 3-1/4" square with the old "Wanderer WW" manufacturer logo, dating from the early 1900's to 1930's. According to my research on the Audi USA website, Wanderer was one of 4 previously independent German automotive companies (Audi, DKW, Horch & Wanderer) that formed the root of what is today Audi AG. The Wanderer automotive division began to produce cars in 1913, and in 1932 joined the Audi Union forming what would be the fourth ring in the Audi emblem. The side latch for opening the case, is in good working condition. The elastic strap on the left side for holding the cigarettes is in good condition. I believe at one time, this case probably had a moveable metal latch or lever on the side under the elastic strap, but that piece is missing, but the original bracket or hinge is still intact. There are some shallow dings/ dents on the case, and a little tarnish on the top edge. The enamel "Wanderer WW" emblem is in good condition, and fastened securely to the case. the case could stand a more thorough cleaning, but I leave that to the new owner.
