Honor Roll of Wapello County, Iowa

An Illustrated Historical Biography Compiled from Private Authentic Records.

Compiled and edited by Voigt and Dunaway; Cedar Rapids

No date of publication is stated but this is obviously from around 1920 or 1921.

Pages are un-numbered, but I'd estimate t are between 250 and 325. (book weighs 4 1/2 pounds)

The first 40 or so pages contain pictures and descriptions of WWI event--these pictures are NOT specific to the Wapello County Soldiers, Sailors, and Nurses who served; but are from popular archives of the period.

The rest of the book IS specific to the Wapello County men and women who served in some capacity during World War I.

T are Two Pages of Nurses with pictures of each and a short biographical summary;

Next are 200+ pages showing men who served in the Army ; Officers first and then enlisted men. Each has a picture and short bio.

Finally a dozen or so pages of Navy veterans with the same treatment.

Second to last page contains brief bios of 23 veterans from Wapello County for whom a picture was not available; and the last page contains a list of about 150 Soldiers and Sailors from Wapello County for whom neither a picture nor a biographical sketch was obtained.

All in all t are well over a thousand pictures and bios in this book--it would appear as if nearly every eligible male in the county was involved in some way!

Condition : Fair. This book is bound in soft leather which is worn and frayed on the edges. The spine has been reinforced with duct tape! Previous owner's writing has been obliterated with magic marker on the blank front endpapers. Book is generally loose and a few leaves are detached but present.

Shipping : s/h quoted is for USA with delivery confirmation. Insurance, if desired will be charged at cost and will be based upon final value. (I package with care-please see my feedback!)
