The War in the Cradle of the World by Eleanor Franklin Egan, first UK published by Hodder & Stoughton in 1918. The author was a correspondent for the Saturday Evening Post and she followed the Mesopotamia campaign (now Iraq) during the First World War, having good access through the British Military. Whilst praising the Military, she comments on the air of superiority, the firm, brutal way matters are handled, from which the reasons for subsequent and ongoing events become more understandable. This is a reading copy, lacking the plain fep, with 312pp text, together with a number of photographic ilustrations, having some marking to the end papers, a little light spotting and the covers with knocking, rubbing, marking & also lacking the colour pastedown to the front board. 700 Bidding Information I try to accurately describe each item, and photographs form part of the description.
