UP FOR AUCTION IS A POURER BY JAYSON LAWFER. His pourers are very rare to come by, especially one like this with so much soda firing action on it!!!!!!! This will be some of the last pots available by Jayson since he is moving to Italy at the end of the month. DON"T MISS THIS LAST CHANCE!!It is made of porcelain and fired to cone 10 in a soda kiln with a wood reduction cooling. This piece is a fine example of Jayson's confident technique of throwing and altering pottery. It is about 4.25"x6"x4" in size and is stamped with his JL stamp. It will also be shipped with a laminated card with a Warren MacKenzie quote (not pictured).
Jayson Lawfer most recently has started his own art gallery entitled . After graduating from the University of Montana, Jayson completed an artist residency at Guldagergard (2002) in Denmark, The Archie Bray Foundation (2004), A.I.R. Vallauris in Vallauris, France (2006), and Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago (2007). His work has been featured in prestige American exhibitions at the Lancaster Museum of Art (Pennsylvania), Missoula Art Museum (Montana), Cedar Rapids Museum of Art (Iowa), and New Hampshire Institute of Art. Recently he was selected for the Sydney Meyer Fund International Ceramic Award in Australia and The Salzbrand 2006 competition in Germany. The American Society of Ceramics awarded Jayson one of the "2005 Emerging Artists of the Year". From 2002-2006, he was the Executive Director of The Clay Studio of Missoula (USA) and Gallery Director of its exhibition.LOOK AT MY OTHER AUCTION ITEMS!!! These are the final pieces....
