ALUMINIUM PLAQUE OF 'WARSHIP' LOCOMOTIVE. This itemwill be of particular interest to Diesel fans - it's a limited edition plaque of a 'Warship' class made at Swindon from scrap from the locos. This is a limited edition polished aluminium plaque made from scrapped Warship class diesel hydraulic locomotives. The plaque shows Warship loco 823 (was named 'Hermes', but the plate on the plaque is blank) with headcode 6C31. Text says: 'Warship Class 2200 HP Diesel Hydraulic Locomotive designed and built at Swindon in 1958 This plaque was cast in the B.R.E.L works at Swindon from metal reclaimed when the locomotives were broken up and is no 1667 of a limited edition of 3000'. The text is all raised in capitals, with the exception of the number 1667 which has been stamped in a space left blank after the casting. The raised text has been left polished and the background is painted in mid-green The plaque is mounted on a hessian covered board in a heavy aluminium frame which is screwed to the board...looks good!
