Then has a beautiful top with herringbone inlay around the edge of the body & around the center. The strike guard is a large piece of Tortoise Shell inlay into the wood & then inlaid with Mother of Pearl scroll work in it. Also there is piece of various Mother of Pearl inlaid along the stock as well. The head is a solid head with an engraved piece of metal on the back with Washburn marked in it. It is a very high end model the #225 version with a serial number of 221098 inside on the original paper label which reads that this Cremonatone model won awards at the 1893 world's fair & another in 1894 for another. It is also stamped 225 just above the label. Now on to the condition. The body appears to has been refinished at one time.
