Hello,
Here for your consideration is a wonderful sword made by world-renowned sword maker Wilkinson Sword of London, England. This sword was commissioned by the U.S. Bicentennial Society to commemorate the bicentennial of the American Revolution. This sword is a replica the original sword that George Washington wore for his inauguration. The hilt is done entirely in sterling silver, with London hallmarks for 1974. Plaque indicates that 1000 swords were made to commemorate the bicentennial of the American Revolution. The blade is colichemarde by Wilkinson, numbered on the heel 222. Condition of the sterling silver hilt is superb, with a wonderful patina. The quality of the hilt is first rate. Silver could be polished to its original brightness but I will let the new owner decide if they want to do that or not. The colichemarde blade is 72 cm / 28.5" long, and 3 cm wide at the ricasso, decorated in 18th century style strap-work and floral sprays. There is some staining on the blade. These small-swords rarely come up on the market. This one is complete with the original solid oak mounting board. It has the registration card and its envelope attached to the oak mounting board. I am happy to ship worldwide but please bear in mind the the mounting board is large and somewhat heavy so shipping will be priced accordingly. I do not charge handling fees, only what I pay. Often times I charge less on shipping than what it costs me. Shipping price quoted is through the USPS. If you prefer a different provider please contact me and I should be able to get you a price quote. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding!
