Watchmen, hardcover collected edition, First Printing The modern classic by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons! Back in the Eighties, Alan Moore was a star at DC Comics--he'd revived the supernatural side of DC (which eventually became the Vertigo imprint) so he was given another Universe to play arond with--the action heroes of Charlton Comics! However, the head honchos at DC Comics were a little...uneasy... with what he had done with the residents of Earth-X, so he was asked to make a few changes...and the Watchmen were born! 20 years (and one major film feature) later, the Watchmen collection is still in print--but this auction showcases the FIRST EDITION hardcover--complete with its own slipcase! This edition also features "liner notes" that shine a spotlight on the behind-the-scenes illustrations that reveal the change from the Charlton also-rans to the Watchmen, including the original incarnations of the characters! A must-have for any collector! This hardcover book is in Fine+ condition, with white pages, sharp illustrations and a solid binding. The slipcase is still in great shape.
