This beautifully painted set of 4 panels represents The Four Seasons. They are exquisitely water painted on rich textured silk over board. They are in excellent condition and each large panel measures 18.75 by 42.75. The shadow box wood frames look Teak and have gilt facings. The gilt has several tiny scrapes from moving that are easily touched up with a touch of gilt rouge. Together they make a stunning display. The client says they can be mixed and matched for different looks as they are cunningly painted to flow into each other no matter which way they are placed. We chose the one that appears to us to be the premier arrangement for you to view. This painting was commissioned and purchased from the Chinese artist approximately 20-25 years ago. The artist was at the time an extremely well known and followed artist in San Francisco. This painting is from the Lynchs personal estate collection. Patrick Sims Lynch had the Four Seasons commissioned at a cost of $10,000.00. His wife does not remember the name of the artist, unfortunately. One of the four panels are Chinese Seal signed so maybe someone who is familiar with the artist and can read the seal would help us out with information. It would be much appreciated!!!! As we do not know the artist, we are offering this set a very low beginning estate cost. Hopefully someone can help us with identification and then you can be assured of the true value of this fine set. Patrick Sims Lynch was member of a prominent pioneer family. He was born on May 14, 1932, in Spokane, Washington. His father Joseph w. Lynch, M.D. pioneered Neurological Surgery in the Northwest. His son followed his fathers footsteps and became a noted Neurological Surgeon and author. He passed away in Eugene, Oregon on January 28, 1998.
