This Waterford Crystal & Brass Lismore 2 Piece Hurricane Lamp, was handmade in Ireland , from the purest crystal . It is part of Waterford's Crystal & Brass Collection. It is acid etched with the Waterford name & hallmark on the crystal Lismore piece. On the bottom of the brass part , the Waterford name & hallmark is embossed in silver. The green and gold sticker is also attached. This Brass & Crystal Hurricane Lamp is BRAND NEW . The light reflects beautifully through Lismore's pattern of exceptional beauty . The hand polished brass is of the highest quality . It is also hand lacquered to prevent tarnishing . This is a very heavy item - over 5 pounds with the box of votives. This hurricane lamp, when put together is 8" tall by 4" wide by 3 1/4" across the bottom. The top part is approx. 5" high and the bottom is 3 1/4" high . The crystal is 1/4" thick . It comes in it's gray Waterford Crystal & Brass Collection box, with the top wrapped in Waterford's signature tissue paper (the brass bottom is contained in it's own box in a separate compartment). This gorgeous lamp is very versatile . The original paperwork is also included. You can use tapers, tea lights or votive candles in it. Each candle type will cast a soft and romantic glow. I've paired this special hurricane with a box of Waterford votive candles in the Radiant scent. T are 6 wonderful smelling votives in the box ~ red & black currants, plus cedarwood... These votives have a burn time of 15 hours each. The longer the burn time , the better the candle. These really are the "best of the best". The Lismore pattern is Waterford 's best selling pattern . This pattern was introduced on October 23, 1952 and was created by Mirek Havel . It is, indeed, a classic . It is used for stemware, vases, plates, bowls, cutlery handles, etc . Besides being Waterford 's 1st modern Director of Design , Mr. Havel was one of the three original people to reopen Waterford Crystal in 1947 . After WWII, Mirek left his native Czechoslovakia , w he was already well known for his work with crystal. Waterford Crystal had been closed since 1847, due to crushing taxes imposed by England . He originally came to Ireland for 3 months. Waterford was nothing more than a small green shack on a dirt road. T also were no other artisans besides him. Mirek had to go into the Irish countryside to f ind craftsman to train. He loved Ireland & Waterford so much , the "Maestro" (as he is known) stayed with Waterford for over 40 years until his retirement in 1990. He helped to shape & guide Waterford Crystal into the world class company it is today. Please view my other items and contact me with any questions. All are from a smoke free home. I package all items the way I like to receive them. Free delivery confirmation is included in the shipping. Please supersize then maximize the pictures. They are an important part of the description. Most crystal companies use 24% lead crystal, while Waterford uses 33% lead crystal. This is what makes Waterford crystal weigh more & have that special brilliance which makes it "head & shoulders" above the rest. NOTE : Shipping Discount doesn't apply to this item because of it's size, weight and fragile nature. Now for the fine print necessitated by all the changes in eBay: I have always refunded excess shipping back to my customers, as my repeat buyers know. The PRICE OF SHIPPING has MANY FACTORS. You not only have the weight of the item , but of the Waterford box it came with it (if it's available), the bubble wrap, peanuts, air bags & the outer box I send your item in. I only use packing materials that are clean & new, as are the boxes. I also have a small handling fee of $1 to $2.50 per shipment. This is due to the fact that I spend 10 to 30 minutes (sometimes more) packaging your "treasure." I send several personal emails along the way, from payment to shipping. I'll happily leave feedback for you once you leave it for me....
