WATERFORD CRYSTAL "LISMORE" SALAD BOWL Forever elegant and classic, Waterford's "Lismore" pattern dates to the 1950's, named after the picturesque village of Lismore in the beautiful Irish countryside, famous for it's Lismore castle that is steeped in centuries of history. As far as I know, this bowl has never been used. It was stored as a show piece in the china closet since it was purchased in the early to mid 60's. The salad bowl is about 7" across the top, about 8" across the bottom, 3+ inches deep, and still has the original Waterford green and gold tag on it. I can't see any troubles on it other than a wee bit of dust. It is very intricate, wonderfully balanced and heavy at about 4 pounds, beautiful salad presentation or for a gorgeous centerpiece. Magnificent Christmas Gift !! I have seen these in retail stores for $250 and up. Handmade crystal may have some very minor differences, ie air bubbles or other variations, that are not flaws, but unique to the process of handmade crystal. Unfortunately, I do not have the original box. It will be heavily padded with lots of bubble wrap and peanuts in an extra sturdy box. All the pieces I have shipped so far have arrived safely but due to the fragile nature of crystal, insurance is needed.
