This 2001 Waterford Society Crystal Unicorn was handmade in Ireland from the purest crystal . It is acid etched with the Waterford name and hallmark. The green & gold sticker is attached. This stunning piece is the 6th edition of the Waterford Society's "Legends and Lore Collection". This Collection was created by Waterford's renowned Master Sculptor and Designer Fred Curtis . This goreous piece is BRAND NEW . It was taken out of it's box for these photographs only . It was retired the same year it came out. The Waterford Society was a private organization of Waterford Crystal collectors. You had to be a member to buy these exclusive pieces . They were not available anyw else. All of their items are inscribed with a stylized WS & the year (in this case the year is 2001 ), along with all the other qualities you'd expect . The Waterford Society doesn't exist anymore . These very special pieces are getting harder to find , until, one day, you'll not be able to find them anymore. This adds great worth to the price of the piece. The artisans at Waterford saw the Unicorn as a creature of majesty and purity . Simple yet powerful design focuses in on a powerful body, a flowing mane and a magical horn.
