Made around 1920, this is a Waterman's gold filled fountain pen and pencil in the Pansy Panel pattern. Waterman actually made three different pansy panel design. This is the most difficult one to find; less defined flowers with more pronounced swirls. The pen measures 5 7/16 inches capped. It is marked 055 4 on the bottom with the Waterman imprint on the black hard rubber barrel. The filling lever, clip, etc - all have the proper Waterman markings. The ultra flex 14K nib says Waterman Reg US Pat of 4 . The matching pencil measures 5 1/4 inches and is correctly marked. The pen has been resacked and the pencil works. Both the pen and pencil have no dents, no notable scratches, no engraving, and the tops are perfectly round. The box appears to be blue fabric over metal with a lush blue interior.
