F rom1936-1939 Waterman made a series of filagree and overlay pens similarto those made from 1915-1929. The difference was the clip, lever, and a more stramlined appearance in line with the times. The pens came in the same patterns, gold filled or silver overlay over black, and were as beautiful as the earlier series. This particular pen and pencil set are sterling silver filagree over black and are quite beautiful with the shiney sterling filagree over complete black. Neither pen nor pencil have notable dents or scratches. They are correctly marked "Waterman's" and "Sterling Silver".
The pen measures 5 1/8 inches capped, and has a 14k #2 Waterman's flexible fine nib. Note the unique design of the matching pencil of this model. The mystique of this set is the matched marking of the indicia. Both have 6 faint lines. I can't tell if they are professionally removed initials or what. The indicias are shiney sterling silver and do not diminish the overall appearance of this beautiful, very difficult to find set. The pen has been resacked, and the pencil works. T is a modest reserve for this set. I sell pens infrequently, but the ones I do sell are high quality, with any imperfections or faults fully described. I offer a money back guarantee on every pen I sell. I have several other nice pens that I am selling at this time.
