My Watkins Westminster tremolo guitar amp. Back in the early 1960's, everything in our band bar the bass guitar went through one of these! It wasn't actually this one however - I acquired this from a friend in the early 1970's. I recall at some stage I removed the blue anodised tremolo footswitch for use on a home built fuzzbox, but unfortunately during domestic upheaval in the early '90s it was lost. I have also lost the original blue vinyl dust cover - it had split down one seam and it seems it has been thrown away. When I opened the back of the amp for the photos, I found a luggage label I had left in there identifying the tagstrip connections for the footswitch, so it should be relatively simple to connect a replacement switch. Cosmetically in pretty good shape for its age, though there are two or three small scrapes on the front top edge where the covering has been rubbed away exposing the wood below (see photo). There are some darkened areas in the lower LH (as viewed) corner of the gold grille, which don't show up that well in the photo. I have had it on test tonight and checked all four inputs and both channels - it all works and initially sounded pretty good, However after half an hour or so the sound became quite badly distorted. After cooling down it sounded OK again. I conclude it will need servicing before it could read more
