Up for bid today is a Watling Rol-a-top 5 cent slot machine in close to perfect condition. The serial # is 75885 and can be seen on the top casting w it is stamped in the metal just to the right of the circular glass and also it is stamped in the wood near w the coin box is located, the # dates the machine to approx 1937. This is a family heirloom and has been in my family for years as my father was a major collector of coin-op machines. I have been around these machines all my life (38 years) and have helped my father buy, sell, deliver, fix and restore everything from peanut/ gumball machines to nickelodeans and have gained alot of knowledge from my father who passed approx 2 years ago. This machine is restored and is near perfect, only a small amount of paint is missing under the circular glass. The coin box is missing and the back door may not be original, I am not sure. The rest of the machine to the best of my knowledge is all original. The machine plays great but has one small problem, on the first pay strip (which all 3 are metal) the machine belives that a lemon is a cherry. I know this is a easily remedied problem, but I don't have access to any parts as my father married a gold digger before he passed and this was the only machine that I got. These machines are extremely collectable and have been called the "Rolls Royce" of slot machines. You can look on the internet yourself and find this exact machine going for as high as $6995.00, my reserve is far below this. Lastly, you may be asking yourself why I would sell such a collectable heirloom? It's simple, I deal in vintage guitars and need some extra capital for a business loan, as I am opening my own store.Buyer is responsible for shipping/handling and packaging/insurance fees. You can either use Craters and Freighters out of Cleveland, OH (888-CRATE11, or a company of your chosing to pick up the item in Akron, OH 44305 and local pickup is available. I am prohibited by law to ship to Alabama, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Nebraska, S. Carolina or Tennessee. No refunds. Accepted forms of payment: paypal, personal check, moneyorders or cashier's check. Only U.S. bidders please. Thanks for looking.
