Up for auction are a lovely matching pair of Wavecrest ewers. I am not certain of the age but I would think they were manufactured in the 19th or early part of the 20th century. Each ewer stands approximately 15 inches tall. The stand, spout, and handle are very ornate with nice detail. They are brass-painted over white metal. The glass consists of 12 panels. The scene on the front depicts a "courting" scene of a young man on his knee in front of a young maiden. T is ornamentation surrounding the scene with raised white dots. The matching ewers face each other. A similar motif is painted on the back of each ewer. The ewers are in fine condition considering their age. T is some wear of the brass paint on the inside spout of one ewer which shows the white metal. Also, the painting on one of the ewers has faded more than the other. Each ewer weighs approximately 3 lbs. Please see photos and feel free to email me with any questions. Low starting bid on pair and no reserve.
