This is a stunning set inb original half-leather binding with marblized boards. It is the Centenary Edition published by Scott's original publisher on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Adam and Charles Black were noted publishers in Edinburgh. The edition was opublished in 1871. It contains lithograps for frontspieces in each volume. The books are bound in light camel to gold toned leather spines with gilt decoration. There are raised bands on the spines with two morocco leather labels on eacvh spine, one black and one burgandy. Each volume is 7.5 inches tall and 5 inches deep. There is some damage to some spines (as evidenced in the pictures), and there are signs of wear and some age related spotting on some pages. This is a rare, complete set in its ORIGINAL binding.
