Minor storage age, no soiling, rips, tears or repairs. Washed afew times but not faded, no fraying and no soiling. Minimal, honest use. Korean items are becoming the next wave for militaria investors and have been steadily rising. The images are from what a classic M-48 parka should look like. The fur has been cut off the hood, easily replaced as Iam giving you two additional fur hoodsfor the M-1951 parka! So, you have all you need. I could have just aseasily put the fur on this myselfand nobody would have been the wiser - but as an honesty guage, the fact that you have the original era fur andaneedleand this can be yours. A RARE ITEM! Over time, many fur pieces rotted off. If you have ever wanted a nice M-48, this is the perfect. Extremely rare. Although it was designed in 1948, the M-1948 parka was first introduced as the 1st generation of extreme cold weather items to the US Army and the USMC right before the Korean War. These are the first fishtail parkas made and nearly all were rushed to Korea in 1950. Production ceased right after that because they were unnecessarily expensive to make because of the complex quality of construction. This makes the M-1948 parka extremely rare. The size inside is marked as L, but it measures at a 66 inch chest. HUGE! Shirt, jacket or upper body sizes on coveralls and flight suite size measurements are taken from fastening up the garment and laying it flat, and measuring in inches from one extreme ends of the garment to the other. That measurement is from just w the armpit meets the side seam to the other opposite point of correlation. I then double that measurement for a total chest circumference size in inches. That is from one end of the fabric to the other. Remember that this measurement is to the extreme ends of the garments fabric, so know your garments construction and calculate for material heft, seams or any material in the garments construction.
