This is a top quality carbide gage block set by Webber Gage Company who later became Starrett - Webber. There is a total of 36 carbide gage blocks and one .040 Fonda hardened steel block. The .051 block is cracked in half (but there is another .051 block), the 2" block and .060 block have a corner chips, and the .050" block is missing. Although carbide is must harder than hardened steel, it is also more brittle, and will crack if dropped on a hard surface. This set is very well cared for with a beatiful walnut fitted case in very good condition. This set today would cost well over $1200 new, this one has no wear, on the remaining block, so it is in a good of shape as new as far a size of the blocks. So if your looking for a deal on a great set of gage block this set is well worth considering, at a small fraction of the cost of new!
The case is 6 x 12".
