This is a fabulous , complete , sterling silver dresser set made by Webster.. They all carry the Webster hallmark (with the exception of the letter opener) and are stamped "Sterling"(letter opener is stamped "Sterling"also). The set includes the full size hand mirror, large hair brush, one clothes brush and one letter opener. NO MONOGRAMS!!The brush bristles in the clothes brush feel to be a soft horsehair and the hairbrushe has what feels to be boar's hair bristles (stiffer and more course) Both brushes have the bristles set in wood bases that have a creamy, off white lacquer top coat. The hair brush measures 9" by 3 1/8 " and has only minor dings along the side w the sterling meets the brush base (not visible when displayed ). The sterling has seperated a bit (no big deal) from the wooden base of the bristles on the side which I make note of for buyers -but this certainly does not affect it's stability for use or it's beauy on display!!"The clothes brush measures 6" by 2" and is in pristine condition with the exception of some minor side dings and one small ding on the end (see pic) .The mirror (heavy) measures 10 1/4" by 5 1/2" and looks perfect when displayed , but does have some side dings and small dings around the mirror edge (quite common in this type of antique piece!) I believe the mirror itself is in perfect condition with the retaining ring in place (this allows mirror to be removed for replacement if needed).The letter opener does not have the Webster hallmark , but is stamped sterling and certainly seems to be a match and all were purchased together. The letter opener measures 6 1/4 " long. The beautiful repousse work on these pieces is breathtaking and beautiful as it looks like a garland of flowers wound around each piece. This auction is for ALL FOUR pieces- a rare collection !! What a fabulous Christmas gift for someone special1 I just returned from the huge, Round Top antique fair and saw the same set (minus the letter opener) selling for $700.00 at the antique center "Coles".
