Wedgwood Potteries Staffordshire England 1880's? Aesthetic Brown Transfer ware Beatrice Pattern. I'm not a collector and I'm not even sure what this was designed to hold. It was an old cardboard box forever & the piece has brown dust from the box still on it. I wiped it "clean" with a wet paper towel, but I didn't want to damage it - I'll leave the cleaning to the buyer. The bottom piece measures 11" wide handle to handle, a little under 9" wide at the bowl and 4" high, the lid 8 5/8" x 3" high. The bottom section has no nicks, scratches or cracks, the top piece is almost perfect. T is a tiny nick in the underside of the top edge - please see picture - at the bottom of the lid next to the ruler.. Under the brown wedgwood logo in the underside of the lid t is a very light impression mark - a diamond with a crown on top - very difficult to make out - it has a "7" on the left side, an "R" with a small "d" above it in the center and a "3" with a diamond next to it at the top. The number/letter at the right & bottom I can't make out. The bottom piece appears to have a similar impression under logo at the bottom, but it's much too light to see details. No reserve, I will let the collectors set the value.
I'm sure collectors will be interested in this piece - I can not find anything about this particular bowl anyw on the web. The top weighs 23 ounces and the bottom 38.1 ounces. These two pieces will be very well wrapped and protected for shipping. Shipping will be via Priority Insured Mail to USA only. PAYPAL is required for payment. Shipping weight will be six pounds.
